While visiting my youngest son in New York last month, we decided to stretch our boundaries and discover a new restaurant! We were looking for a weekend brunch, YUM! We chose to explore The Smith restaurant as it was close to our location on Broadway and 63rd street in the heart of New York city and offered a lovely brunch menu.
The interior of The Smith was classic quaint chic, with a touch of old fashion NYC diners. The wait staff were very attentive and the food was fantastic!

Upon Discovering The Smith Restaurant in the heart of New York City we decided on a lovely bottle of champagne to start our brunch!
Of course, as a transplanted Brit in Yank country, we always need to say “Cheers”! We splurged and enjoyed a lovely bottle of Billecart-Salmon Brut Rose ~

Equally important when enjoying a brunch in NYC, is the variety of choices! Brunch menus consist of breakfast and lunch foods, so the diner can select from a variety of dishes to suit their tastes and mood.
Now, if you’ve seen my previous post on seafood in New England, you’ll know how much I crave New England Shrimp Cocktail! So of course that was my choice for a starter ~

For my entree, I went back to the breakfast part of my brunch! A Yank stack of buttermilk pancakes with sticky toffee caramel and pecan maple butter. These pancakes were delish! Light and fluffy with plenty of pecan maple butter ~

But the pièce de résistance was, of course, spending this time with my son ~

So, next time you’re in New York City, discover The Smith Restaurant and enjoy some quality time with family or friends …
