Happy Independence Day across the pond to all of my family and friends! Enjoy your celebrations!
Whether it be cloudy, rainy or bright sunshine and warm, folks across the pond will be celebrating the 4th of July! It’s America’s celebration of Independence Day from….England!
The Fourth of July, Independence Day, is the day the United States declared its independence from British rule in 1776. As part of the celebrations, there will be reenactments of certain historical moments, such as the signing of the Declaration of Independence. You may even be able to find and watch a reenactment in Boston of Paul Revere riding through the city announcing “The British are coming, the British are coming!”
Independence Day activities across the country will be held in celebration.
Independence Day activities across the pond will include gatherings for cookouts, block parties, parades and the like. Most towns will have a carnival or fair for the community to enjoy. And the fave foods will be hotdogs and hamburgers grilled and served with sides of potato and macaroni salads and usually corn on the cob, YUM! Desserts are generally fruit, as well as anything red, white and blue!

Our family’s celebration also ALWAYS included homemade New England Clam Chowda!!! Enough to feed at least 40 people…

Most Independence Day celebrations across the pond end with a sponsored fireworks display!!

Larger cities will also have amazing celebrations. The city of Boston will sponsor the Boston Harborfest, a family-friendly event that includes historical reenactments, live music, parades and a fireworks display over Boston Harbor. You’ll see folks dressed up in British redcoats amid battle reenactments.
The Boston Pops (Boston Symphony Orchestra) also will perform at the “half shell” in Boston as they have for the past 49 years!.

Macy’s will put on a Fourth of July Fireworks display in New York City, and The National Mall in Washington, D.C. is a fantastic place to celebrate too!!
Importantly, there will be remembrances across the country of the sacrifices of veterans, active-duty military personnel, and first responders as a way to never forget those sacrifices made for our country.

However you celebrate Independence Day (the 4ht of July), enjoy be safe, be with family and friends and enjoy!
