Our second visit to Greece ~ this time to Corfu!

Our 2nd wedding anniversary will see us taking our vacation to travel to Corfu, Greece!  This will be our second trip to the amazing country.  Our first visit was last year when we celebrated our 1st anniversary coupled with our honeymoon!  We traveled to the island of Crete last year and were so enamored we couldn’t wait to get back and explore more of this amazing country.  See my post below about how lovely our trip to Crete, Greece was!

Of course, we can’t wait to see more!

For our celebration this year, we will travel to Corfu, Greece!  Again, we will be staying in the same family of hotels as we did in Crete.  We found the Grecotel chain of boutique hotels to be absolutely amazing and couldn’t wait to visit with them again!  On our first visit we stayed at the Caramel Grecotel.  For our trip to Corfu, we will be staying at the Eva Palace Grecotel, Corfu, Greece.

For our vacation travel to Greece this year, we will be flying out of Bournemouth International Airport, which is only about a 15-20 minute car ride!  That will be fantastic for us, as generally our rides to Heathrow or Gatwick take more than 2 and half hours!!  Also, the flight to Greece for us is less than 3 hours, about as much time as it takes to fly from Massachusetts to Florida!

The Eva Palace is located on the island of Corfu and is situated on the Kommeno Peninsula.

It will take us about 25 minutes to get from the Corfu International airport to our lovely hotel.  The 25 minute ride gives a lovely opportunity to view the surroundings and decide where you may want to explore more!

We will be exploring Corfu Old Town which is located about 20 minutes from the Grecotel hotel.  Corfu Town is a principal port and the largest town in the Ionian islands!  It’s built between two Venetian castles and is thriving with shops!  (I might need an extra suitcase coming back!).   We are looking forward to exploring the elegant buildings, churches, fortresses and narrow alleyways to experience all Corfu is!   I can promise some amazing pics upon my return!

Of course we are also hoping to explore some of the magnificent coastline again, but, fingers crossed for the weather!

Regardless, we will have an amazing time mingling with the wonderful Greek people and enjoying the amazing food!  Equally important we will be  exploring the amazing Greek culture.
