Let’s have a look at history in the making! Travel across the pond to England for the Coronation of King Charles III.
So in case you may have missed the news, King Charles will be crowned King this Saturday, May 6th! Now, whether you’re a royalist or have misgivings about royalty in this day and age, this is history in the making! I am excited that I live in England and will be able to experience this event first-hand. Let’s go across the pond to England for the Coronation of King Charles III.
But first, a little history ~
King Charles III ascended to the throne upon the death of Queen Elizabeth II. She became queen at the age of 25 years old upon the passing of her father, King George VI. Queen Elizabeth II was the longest reigning monarch. She reigned for 70 years and 214 days! This is the longest of any reigning monarch and the longest verified reign of any female head of state in history! Charles, being the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, was the prince in waiting.

And, of course, as I’ve mentioned in a previous post, the Brits love their extra “Bank Holidays”. So, Monday is a holiday here across the pond. King Charles III is encouraging all to spend the day volunteering in your local community.
My husband and I will be watching the procession and ceremony on the telly! We have plans later on Saturday to join friends at a local venue where there will be food, drink and music to celebrate! Also, on Monday, hubby and I plan to walk the beach and pick up some litter!
And for my family and friends in Yank country who want to see the goings on across the pond, you can watch on your own tellys!!
King Charles’ coronation will be broadcast on several channels. Tune in to ABC News, CBS, CNN, Fox News, BBC News Channel, and NBC, to watch this historic event! And just a note ~ equally important, all of the times noted above for the Coronation events are for here in England. Don’t forget to take into consideration the 5 hour time difference!
