Visit Greece and explore the culture, the coast, the wonderful people…and definitely the food!
My husband and I both traveled to Greece for the first time last year and we can’t wait to visit and explore more of Greece! We were celebrating our first anniversary and honeymoon all in one, as we were married during Covid 19 lockdown and were unable to travel at the time!
But our visit to Greece was well worth the wait! We stayed at the gorgeous Caramel Grecotel on the isle of Crete.

The Grecotel has many locations, see which one you would choose!
We swam in the Aegean Sea, explored the town of Rethymno (Rethimno), indulged in some amazing food from a local taverna, and met some wonderful people!

Rethymno is a city on the north coast of the Greek island of Crete. In the old town, the Venetian Harbor is filled with fishing boats and lined with tavernas.
If you’re a foodie, like I am, then a visit to Greece is a must, and the isle of Crete did not disappoint!
When looking for a taste of the local cuisine a helpful hint ~ find a taverna where the locals are enjoying a meal! A taverna where the menu is not only in English, but a version also in the native tongue! This will ensure you are getting a true Greek dining experience! We found this lovely taverna on one of the back streets in Rethymno, and yes, lots of locals enjoying a bite and a beverage as well as a menu on display in both English and Greek! We were not disappointed with the food or the hospitality!
I ordered the Greek salad (of course) along with an order of the stuffed vine leaves (stuffed with minced lamb and rice and served with tzatziki and lemon. Just with those two items there was enough food to feed four people!

And when we were done with our meal, out came the complimentary desert and decanter of Raki with two shot glasses! Of course, we had to accept the hospitality and indulge!!!

We visited the Agreco Farm one evening on our visit and had a lovely dining experience. A tour of the vineyards, some wine tasting with cheese, and a lovely al fresco meal!

Of course when visiting Greece, or when traveling anywhere, you have to explore the culture, the local “vibes”. We spent some time walking around the old town of Rethymno and what a delight! From classic alleys strewn with floral vines, to al fresco dining and beautiful blue waters!

Visit Greece! Explore! Whether you prefer the ancient cities, the lovely islands nestled on the coast, or maybe a little of both, visit and explore Greece as often as you can!
We will be traveling to Corfu, Greece in a few weeks time to celebrate our 2nd anniversary and will be staying at the Eva Palace Grecotel.
We can’t wait to explore another section of this beautiful and welcoming country, enjoy some more food, explore places we’ve not yet seen and of course meet more wonderful people!
