A Day in Belchertown, Massachusetts, Yank Country…

Spending the day with my oldest son and his partner, catching up, chatting, laughing, enjoying…

I always look forward to spending time with these two amazing young men! Relaxing, catching up, campfires…simple pleasures!

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, Belchertown, Mass is located about an hour and a half drive from central Mass where I originally hail from. It’s lovely country in Western MA, Yank country. Wide open spaces, farm land, acres of fields, mountains in the background, hiking trails winding through the woods with rivers and streams babbling away…absolutely beautiful.

In the warmer months we have campfires in the backyard, toast marshmallows and Yank hot dogs over an open fire. We hike trails in and around Belchertown, Amherst, Northhampton and have even hiked up Mt Tom (in Easthmapton MA). We sometimes lunch in the quaint town of Northampton, poke around ion the local shops, have an ice cream or a cup of tea…very much like a High Street in Brit country (except no Cream Tea)!

For this visit… of course…my corned beef dinner!!! (not that this is the only reason I came!).

A fun night! We talked about family, politics, global economies, the weather, when they plan on coming to Brit country for a visit. We reminisced past memories and made new!

And of course….played with Buster…the newest addition to their family:

Tomorrow, a Sunday brunch!

Never enough time, always leaves is with wanting more!
