It’s the Weekend in Yank Country and Across the Pond!

After some mundane morning chores…

A lovely weather day here in Yank country. Sunshine and semi-warm temps! (58 degrees Fahrenheit, 14 degrees Celsius). Cleaned out some more of my storage unit here in Yank country. Ran some banking errands and stopped at the local grocery store for some of my Yank faves to bring back to Brit country! I’ll need an extra suitcase on my trip back to Brit country (but don’t tell hubby yet)!

A lovely visit with mum. Brought her some magazines with headlines about the upcoming coronation in Brit world! Had a nice visit and chat! Spent some quality time with Auntie too!

Then…Friday night babysitting! WOOHOO! I always try and make sure to get some babysitting time in while I’m here. Not only so mum and dad can get some time out, but mainly so I get some Yaya spoiling time with my grandkiddies!

Played with the grandkids, danced, laughed, hugged, brought some special sweet treats!

And then some girly time with my granddaughter…face mask, fingernail painting and a little makeup fun!

This is how I stay connected, how I stay close! Busy? Absolutely! Worth every second? You betcha’!!

Absolutely…PRICELESS!!!

Tomorrow??? Off to visit with my oldest son and his partner in Belchertown, Massachusetts, about an hour and a half drive west from where I’m at here in central Massachusetts. They’ll make my corned beef and cabbage for dinner, one of my absolute faves, and on Sunday we’ll have a lovely brunch with some of their friends!

  1. Great post
I really enjoyed reading about your busy but fulfilling time in Yank country! Your granddaughter time sounds like so much fun. My logical question for you is, what is your favorite memory from your recent visit with your oldest son and his partner in Belchertown, Massachusetts?

    1. I thoroughly enjoy spending time in their backyard with a small campfire and roasting marshmallows and the peace and quiet. Crickets. Tree frogs. So very peaceful and relaxing. And they’re such great hosts! We also enjoy hiking some trails in the better weather. In the summer months we often go into Amherst or Northampton for a lunch!

    2. Oh and one more thing! Thank you so very much for your kind comment!
